How many volunteers work for EBH?
- Approximately 200 volunteers work for the hospice in total with about 100 of these working in the hospice shops.
What are some of the things volunteers do?
- Assist in running our Day programme
- Provide transport to and from the hospice
- Reception duties
- General maintenance such as cleaning and gardening
- Help with fundraising events
- Shop assistance and support
- Trained therapists for home visits
- Visit homes to provide companionship, respite, shopping etc
- Provide a biography service
Is there a training programme for volunteers?
Yes, we run an orientation training and ongoing education and support meetings.
Next Training
Starting April 2007 for 4 Wednesday mornings and 2 Monday mornings.
