The Hospice Shops
Our new Hospice Shop at 181 Apirana Ave, Glen Innes (opposite PAK’N SAVE) is proving to be an outstanding sucess. The shop is much larger than our first shop at Mayfair Place, with parking right outside the door. We sell good quality second-hand furniture, household linen, curtains and sports goods as well as bric a brac and clothing.
Our very successful Mayfair Place shop will continue to serve customers in the Glen Innes mall area.
As well as having a large floor area at Apirana Ave for the display and sale of goods we also have space for the storage and sorting of donated items. Storage and sorting was previously carried out in the confined areas of the Hospice garage or Mayfair Place. The larger storage & sorting area at Apirana Ave makes the delivery of donated goods and the stocking of our two shops more accessible and more efficient.
To make our new shop a success we need your help. We need good quality goods to sell and volunteers to help sort and sell them please. You can help by donating goods and by volunteering to help. For donation of good quality, clean items, including furniture, rugs and curtains as well as clothing and home ware please call the Hospice or Shop. You will be advised where the goods can be dropped off (which is our preference) or if required, transport can be arranged to pick up larger items.
Volunteers are required to serve in the shop, sort donated goods, wash, iron and help with small carpentry work and furniture maintenance. Both shops are open 6 days a week from 9:30 to 4:30 with two shifts (9:30 – 1pm; 1-4:30pm) a day. To volunteer for the shop call : Eleanor Brabant (Shop Manager) 522 2761.
This is your opportunity to take part in an exciting new project, raise funds for your local community hospice, meet new people and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the Hospice shops.
